Fees compared (US, 2026)

eBay: 13.6% of the total sale for most categories, including shipping and sales tax, plus $0.40 per order ($0.30 on orders of $10 or less).

Poshmark: $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20% on sales of $15 or more. The buyer pays for the prepaid label, so shipping does not affect your payout.

Mercari: 10% of the item price plus any shipping the buyer pays. There is no separate payment processing fee on current listings.

Depop: no selling fee for US sellers. You pay payment processing of 3.3% plus $0.45 on the item, shipping and tax.

Whatnot: 8% commission on the sale price at the Standard tier, plus 2.9% and $0.30 processing on the order total including shipping and tax.

Depop vs Poshmark

On low-priced items Depop usually leaves you more, because it has no selling fee and Poshmark takes 20% from $15 up. On a $30 top with $6 shipping and 7% sales tax, Depop takes about $1.72 and Poshmark takes $6. Poshmark’s prepaid label is simpler, though, and some items sell faster there.

Poshmark vs Mercari vs eBay

Mercari’s 10% is lower than Poshmark’s 20%, but Mercari charges it on shipping too. eBay’s 13.6% sits between them and is charged on sales tax as well. eBay reaches the most buyers for collectibles, electronics and parts; Poshmark and Depop are built around clothing.

Fees are only part of the choice. Where your item actually sells, and how fast, matters as much. Use the calculator to see the gap, then list where buyers look for that kind of item.
